I am pleased to introduce myself as the Green Party of Ontario candidate of record for the riding of Scarborough-Centre.
I have made a significant contribution in the area of energy policy. Specifically, I am active in the field of Local Benefit Electricity Generation. It’s time for energy policies that put communities and future generations first. It’s time to change the way we look at electricity generation and conservation. Recent “clean” energy initiatives are not sustainable because the government has failed to ensure adequate public benefits and environmental protections.
The government has created a system for large corporations to make huge profits at the expense of overburdened energy consumers without enabling sustainable alternatives. I am concerned that unless something changes soon billions in lost opportunities will vanish from local communities taking jobs and economic activity with them. You can count on Greens to work co-operatively to oppose the false economics of current energy plans.

Where our platform does not state a position on an issue Green MPP’s would rely on our values-based approach and shared principles to provide us with direction. This approach sets us apart from other political parties, which often change their positions on issues for partisan political gain.
We do politics different and will support long term sustainable solutions to issues and concerns. In the Green Party of Ontario, we value the idea that public policy must be based on doing what’s right, rather than on doing what’s politically expedient.
